The worst part in it is that after rescure his wife, lord Ram told his wife to prove his purity in front of everyone by giving agnipariksha, since she has spent a much longer time with an another man, and people have created an issue of purity. Instead of giving importance to his wife, he give much importance to what other people think about her. Rather than teaching them that your wife is not your property and you should give them equal status as a man, and if she say she hasn't done anything, you should believe her because the trust part is main root of any relationship. If you disrupt it by demanding proof, there is no such thing as relationship will left. By disrespecting her in front of everyone, you are hurting the woman self-respect. The only message it gives to future generation that woman should serve a man. They are only meant for it. They will simply ignore and don't even give importance to the thought that because of a woman they even exist in this world....

In the end Lord Ram's wife left him totally....So it doesn't matter for her at all that she has been rescued. For her it is a lifetime sentence much worse than she had felt as a prisoner in Ravan's lanka..
