UNESCO-Listed Kumbh Mela: A Spiritual Gathering at Prayagraj

In 2017 UNESCO included Kumbh mela in its list of heritage.

Prayagraj is called the king of teerths (Teerths are holy places in Hinduism) and It is due to the fact that Kumbh mela is organized here.

Kumbh mela is the biggest gathering in the world where millions gather to wash off their sins and to have an opportunity to take a bath in river Ganga. Not only in India but from the whole world it attracts tourists

From my experience 2019's Kumbh mela was the best mela I could experience due to the arrangements made by the Yogi government.

It is so big that in 2019 approx 20 million people visited the Kumbh mela and I had the opportunity to be a witness of this event for 2 times.
